SEAN M. JONES, ESQ./LL.M.

Founder | Attorney

Sean M. Jones founded the firm in 2015 after an extensive legal career that began in early childhood, growing up in the shadows of his father and uncle, both prominent Central California attorneys.

Having litigated hundreds of cases in both State and Federal Court during his early years of practice and establishing a reputation in the San Diego legal community as a formidable trial advocate, Mr. Jones separated from his previous firm in 2015 to start his own practice, focusing on helping clients through a solutions-oriented approach to not just resolve their immediate legal issues, but to use the process to effect lasting and positive change in their lives. This unique approach has also proven extremely effective at preventing negative impact on clients' careers, finances, families, and futures.

Since starting his practice, Sean has helped clients across Southern California and Nevada, and as a result of his dedication to protecting his clients’ interests and providing principled and honest advice, his law firm has been rewarded with consistent praise and recommendation from current and former clients.

As a lifelong entrepreneur himself -- starting his first business, Prometheus Digital, in high school -- Sean enjoys working with small businesses and other entrepreneurs, helping them get up and running, connecting them with financial partners, and guiding them as they grow and expand. He uses his extensive experience as a litigator to help entrepreneur clients avoid early mistakes that commonly lead to legal complications down the road.

Sean is admitted to practice in the States of California and Nevada as well as the Federal District Courts for Central and Southern California and all of Nevada. He is also a licensed California Realtor and a member of the National Association of Realtors in addition to the California and San Diego Realtor boards.

When not in the courtroom, Sean enjoys traveling with his wife and daughters, surfing, snowboarding and rock climbing.

Recent Trial Victories

Not Guilty Jury Trial Verdict - Felony Child Abuse with Great Bodily Injury

Our client, a Navy SEAL was wrongfully accused of deliberately inflicting serious injury, resulting in  multiple rib fractures, on his infant son. At trial Sean successfully demonstrated the timeline of the injuries proved the father could not have been the perpetrator and that law enforcement had failed to investigate a chiropractor the mother took the child to, who specifically warned about the risk of rib fractures when performing adjustments on an infant. The jury returned a unanimous Not Guilty verdict after less than one hour of deliberation. After two years of uncertainty about his career, and facing seven years in prison, our client was finally able to reunite with his son, continue his work with the SEALS, and put this nightmare behind him.

Unanimous Civil Jury Trial Verdict - Construction Defect / Contract

When our client was erroneously sued for $250,000 after restoring a 100 year old home that had suffered serious fire damage, we counter-sued for unpaid invoices and proved to a jury that our client had not only fulfilled the duties he was contracted for, but went above and beyond to rebuild the other party's home. During the trial, Sean revealed that the plaintiff had a history of getting behind on payments and suing her creditors to avoid having to pay her debts. It was also revealed that she sent numerous messages to our client praising the quality of his work and requesting more and more upgrades -- which she ultimately didn't want to pay for. It only took the jury two hours to deny all of the plaintiff's claims against our client and award every penny of our unpaid invoices.

Appellate Victory at 4th District, Affirming Jury Verdict

In 2022 Sean represented a construction company that had been denied payment by a greedy developer. At trial, Sean proved the developer had defrauded the construction workers into signing a release of legal claims in exchange for a promise to remit a final $150,000 payment -- but that as soon as the release was signed, the developer refused to make good on the promise. The jury unanimously awarded our client the full amount they were owed, with interest. The developer appealed the case to the 4th District. After two years of appellate litigation and oral argument before the tribunal, the higher court affirmed the trial court's decision, awarding our client appellate costs in addition to the original judgment.
